It struck me today that I have always been a water person. I have been swimming since I was little. Beach, pool, you name it! I love being in the water. And I am a fantastic swimmer.
My sister on the other hand, she isn't.
And then I looked at my parents. My dad loves to just dive into the waves, and swims out all the way (way out). He is like me. Whereas my mum is like my sister. She barely ever went into the water at the beach, and her enthusiasm at the pool was not that amazing either. She used to take us all to the pool on holiday, and watch us from the bench!
So today was my first stint to the outdoor pool. Finally. I really needed that. I had to go to a different pool than the usual one I would go to. That one is closed. Without reason, without explanation. And that means my sauna chance is gone too (I will deal with that in the winter). So I went to Kamen, the outdoor pool there opens quite early (pre school-kids time).
The changing rooms are a bit yucky.... not dirty. But they are still the same green theme as they were 15 years ago. That sort of freaks me out. So I just put my phone and wallet into a locker and got changed outside. Now, easy.... I had my bathing suit under my dress. And yes, my sport bathing suit. I didn't come for sunbathing, I came to swim. Plus, I don't dare to do a bikini!
I really enjoyed the swim... 25 laps in the Olympic-size pool (which is 50 m). So I actually got to my goal of 50 laps in the normal pool (25 m). Got there in 35 min too. Well done me! I love swimming though. Spaced out in the sun a bit, and went back home.
I might go again tomorrow!
