Summer is always the time when I feel I can get a lot of reading done. During the school year, I often take ages for a good book, unless I make more time for it.
This summer I returned to an old favorite... Harry Potter. Oh, yeah well, I do like Harry Potter, and I always associate reading it with summer and my parents' garden. So what a perfect place to read some Potter. Not table to start with book 1, because I seem to have given it away, I started with book 5.
While everyone hides inside because it is "too hot", I sit under the umbrella and read for hours.
I have two education-related books waiting to be read as well, Five Minds for the future, by Gardner, and Taking the PYP forward, a collection of essays/articles relevant to the PYP. In the next few days I might take a trip to Dortmund, the closest place for a decent selection of English books, and grab some more fiction.
That brings me to the language of books. Even though I consider myself fully bilingual in English and German, I find it hard to read German books. Since I am going to be studying (distance learning) and a German university as of October, it might be a wise idea to get used to reading in German more.... so maybe I will get a German book too (German author though, nothing worse than a translation).
