The last few weeks have been really hot in Germany. It's not usual for it to be over 30°C in the shade for a long time. It builds up as well, then you have a hot hot hot house and nothing you do brings any relief.
I love hot weather and the sun. I can still spend hours outdoors while most people complain about it being too hot to go out (really?). I wish there was a beach though. Not a German beach ....
It did cross my mind to drive into Holland this weekend and find a spot to just stay at a beach. But the sea there is not much better either. I miss Italy and I wonder if moving away from the coast will hunt me later.
But as it is, last night I could not sleep because it was too hot. I watched Rushmore, then put on a second fan. I couldn't find the fly that kept annoying me. So, I just could not sleep. At 3 am there was lightning, getting me all excited about massive thunderstorms and rain. But that took another hour.
I was expecting it to be cooler now, even though it is fresher. And it probably is cooler. I don't check the forecast anymore.....
No need to go to the pool in this weather, as people are there to cool off, not to swim. The pools in this area don't designate an area for just swimming, so the sports pool turns into a paddle pool for some. It is crowded beyond belief....
I look forward to throwing the frisbee around again with my friend who does not mind coming out in this heat. Later it's another family BBQ (small though) and the Holland - Spain game.... I might even finish my book.
I think it will be a good day though.... :) Happy x
